Women Associates, Inc. ("In
Pursuit of Global Understanding")
IWA is
organized to promote understanding and cooperation among Chicago-area
women of all nations. It offers support, fellowship, and services to
the long-term visitor to Chicago. Its programs are designed to provide
access to other cultures and traditions and to create links among people
of diverse cultural backgrounds. IWA is an Associate Member of the National
Council for International Visitors (NCIV),
a network of agencies and community based organizations. Its members
are involved in international business, education and foreign missions
and come from the United States of America and sixty other countries.
IWA Programs includes:
- General monthly meeting
- Six language groups (English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and
Polish)
- Four cultural groups (Arabic, Asian, Hellenic and Turkish)
- International Briefings
- Literature Group
- Education
- Performing Arts
- Recreation (bridge, golf and tennis)
