Since 1990, artists and thinkers from around the world have come to Chicago every November for a Festival commemorating the power of ideas in human culture. Each festival brings together novelists, scholars, musicians, artists, poets, policy makers and others to offer presentations around a theme of universal interest. This year, from November 1-11, the Festival will explore the theme of Words & Pictures.

In addition to the trademark November festival, the Chicago Humanities Festival presents a variety of public and educational programs throughout the year. These educational programs offer free workshops, seminars, performances, and other year-round events for teachers and students to expand their resources for teaching and learning. Such programs include:

Lesson Plans
Classics in Context
Student Book Reviews
Creative Writing Seminar
Associated Colleges of Illinois Humanities Fellowship Awards
Humanities & the Arts Program
Teacher Workshops
