ICIRR Services

  • Public Information & Outreach
Through ongoing multilingual public education campaigns, the Coalition brings vital information on immigrant and refugee rights to immigrants and their communities. Also, multilingual materials on immigrant-related topics are produced and distributed widely.
  • Training & Technical Assistance
Regular training seminars and workshops are provided to staff and volunteers of member organizations on issues such as leadership development, public benefits, media relations, and citizenship services.
  • Policy Evaluation & Monitoring
The Coalition plays a central role in shaping local, state, and national policies affecting immigrants and refugees. This is accomplished by working with government representatives to develop pro-immigrant and -refugee regulations and laws, and to identify and change practices that discriminate against foreign-born individuals.
  • Advocacy & Civic Participation
In addition to promoting fair public policies, the Coalition works with communities to uphold the rights of newcomers, fosters the development of indigenous immigrant leadership, and facilitates the involvement of foreign-born individuals in the political and civic life of their communities.
  • Information & Referral Services
The Coalition serves as a clearinghouse of information on immigrant and refugee issues, services, and programs. Over 90 member organizations provide a wealth of resources to communities throughout Illinois.
  • Organizing & Leadership Development
As part of our commitment to fostering indigenous immigrant leadership, the Coalition provides training to and works in partnership with immigrant communities to mobilize support around issues affecting them.
