Global Chicago: Building a global future through local connections

Global Chicago of The Chicago Council on Global Affairs examines Chicago’s strengths as a global city and raises awareness, both in Chicago and abroad, of the city’s global connections. Through its website, visitors can explore Chicago-based communities, events, experts, and institutions with economic, social, political, and cultural ties to the rest of the world. With its publications, Global Chicago contributes to the discussion of the challenges and opportunities of globalization.

Global Chicago was founded in 2001 following the publication of Global Chicago, a report commissioned by the MacArthur Foundation. Global Chicago published the 2004 book, Global Chicago, and two task force reports: A Shared Future: The Economic Engagement of Greater Chicago and its Mexican Community (2006) and The Global Edge: An Agenda for Chicago’s Global Future (2007).

Global Chicago has refreshed its website. The new interface will help users more effectively explore the site’s resources and new features. All requests for postings need to be submitted to gc@globalchicago.org henceforth. Please visit the legal page for information.
